The Site provides a directory of haunted and historically significant locations for informational and entertainment purposes only. You may use the Site for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:
Society member accounts are free to create. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account. We reserve the right to terminate accounts that violate these Terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion.
Members may submit paranormal accounts (comments), location submissions, and photos. By submitting content you grant the Society a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, worldwide licence to use, display, reproduce, and distribute that content on the Site and in promotional materials. We reserve the right to remove any user-submitted content at our sole discretion without notice.
All content on the Site, including descriptions of haunted locations, paranormal activity, historical accounts, and member-submitted accounts, is provided for informational and entertainment purposes only. The Society does not verify, endorse, or guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any location information or paranormal claims. Paranormal phenomena are inherently unverified. Do not make travel, safety, or other decisions based solely on information found on this Site.
The Site displays advertisements served by Google AdSense. These advertisements are provided by Google LLC and may be targeted based on your browsing history and the content of pages you visit. We are not responsible for the content of third-party advertisements. The presence of an advertisement does not constitute an endorsement by the Society of the advertised product or service. We use Google Analytics and Google Search Console, both managed through Google Site Kit, to collect anonymised data about how visitors use the Site. All original content on the Site, including text, graphics, logos, the "Haunted Homestead Society" name and branding, and the directory database, is owned by or licensed to the Society and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. The Site contains links to third-party websites, including official websites of haunted locations and external resources. These links are provided for convenience only. We have no control over the content or practices of third-party sites and accept no responsibility for them. Linking to a third-party site does not constitute endorsement of that site.
Many locations listed in the Society's registry are private property, historic structures, or locations that may present physical hazards. Always obtain proper permission before visiting any location. Never trespass on private property. The Society accepts no responsibility for any injury, loss, legal consequences, or other harm arising from visits to locations listed in the registry. Visit locations at your own risk and always comply with local laws and regulations.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Society, its operators, contributors, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Site, including but not limited to damages for loss of data, revenue, or goodwill. Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Site shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, if any.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Society and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Site, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.
